Each mind is a little different,
and how they work can be unique. In my case, I am a touch nonlinear. Somehow, seemingly random thoughts match. I probably would have been committed, but I was born in the 60's, Got a bit of slack. Plus, I had good teachers. They noticed I had stepped ahead. I admit being allowed to make gunpowder was probably not a good idea, but my science teacher noticed I was almost falling asleep in class. I doubt this would be accepted today. A twelve year old making a potentially explosive substance... My friend and I did get the mix right after a few mistakes. Now, I help teach my niece. Process is different. She approaches things in ways I don't More orderly than chaotic. Even now I am learning, but I do try to teach her to be random.
