Rusty dragonflyA Poem by Jon Roggie
If you pay attention,
Nature blends. I can be situation oriented. Case in point. My cooking area. Try to understand. Sure, usually a simple bbq, which might take around five hours, but I get creative. Sometimes, I might fry a turkey. This requires a pot of boiling oil. Yes, I am prepared if anyone attempts to set siege. Anyway, I will try to get to the point. Knowing the dogs' curiosity, I felt it would be advisable to enclose the area. Nothing fancy, but the dogs do not appreciate it. Simple materials used. Aging in the weather. Some gaining a touch of rust. Yes. I am finally getting to the point. Two years ago, a dragonfly settled. Color matching the rusting metal. Next year, I see the same. Obviously a new generation. A few days ago another returns. Same tint, and while skittish, settling on the matching posts. Welcome home little ones. © 2018 Jon RoggieReviews
