Burn me with my pages

Burn me with my pages

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Just to be clear,
may we try not to have a preemptive act?
I am not trying to rush it.

Still,
they would be a proper use of the material.

Words burning around me,
  slowly taking me with them.

I try to say I have no ego,
but while I float away with the ashes,
  I can't help but wonder,

"Did anyone make some copies?"

this is exactly how i often feel...wanting to burn everything i ever wrote...
and then i probably would wonder if anyone kept copies of my books----or would find something i wrote once on a napkin...always questions.

I would hope all those trees were put to use.
