Not to be taken seriously

Not to be taken seriously

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Many think their words should be revered,
  merely by being spoken.

They need to learn how to tell a story.

Slogans might last,
but the meaning behind them are often forgotten.

Find the words,
  hopefully to be remembered.

I write my words in the sand,
knowing my signature will be washed away by the tide.

And ignoring your title completely...you capture the true beauty and fragility of words perfectly. The reverance we give our words and selves, can seem minute in the greater scheme of things, when we are honest enough to ponder the greater scheme of things.
A class write.
