Never give up

Never give up

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I realize we are on a writing site,
 and believe it,
   or not,
     this applies.

I am compiling my writes.

To be honest,
I feel like I am pulling a hair from my leg.
Now,
 my legs are hairy,
and there are so many to pull.

So many mistakes,
and I am in the first two years.

So why don't I stop?

I started a compilation.

Started with a simple four line read,
and a comment caught my eye.

Few more joined in,
 and each was another review.

The words matched.

Five people wrote a one page story,
 and it was seamless.

I would love to take credit,
and it might seem I do,
but this was four other people.

Each gave another take to the story.

Like pieces fitting in a puzzle.

Now,
 just to be dramatic,
I felt I was on my deathbed.
Finding a hold to the earthly world,
if only to take my niece to the hospital in the morning.

An odd combination got me through the night.

J.C., a papaya, KL, and a stunning corset.

Many times I find it more interesting to learn about how the writing process goes for other writers, as much as I enjoy just reading the writing. I am amazed at how this thread unfolds with total unpredictability, yet also with a lesson for us all -- to give it a try, follow where the muse leads, & allow pieces to not fit perfectly sometimes! *sigh!* Good one! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

My only regret is all of us did not publish it. Never thought of doing that.
Many like minds make light work Jon.
However we get through the night, friends make it easier. For all of us.

The fun part was how spontaneous it was.
