In passing

In passing

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Not having an anchor,
 I tend to drift along.
Able to stay for awhile,
waiting for the current to carry me away.

In moments of stillness,
I have a chance to talk,
and maybe share a few words.
Learning from others,
 and offering my own ideals.

Knowing I will feel the pull,
 taking me away again.

I am bothered by the first line of the second stanza. Any suggestions?
