Forget my generation

Forget my generation

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I realize this sounds a touch harsh,
  but it is truthful.
The reason I say this is it is being passed along.
What am I going to get?
It is not what you earned.
You might have noticed,
  I am not happy.
Standing on this free standing box,
  I get to ramble along.
Might even make some sense.
Family is torn apart,
  all over garbage.
Don't listen to your parent's theme.
Ignore the elders.
Talk to each other.
I will step off of my soapbox

Each generation leave something. My parent left me war and bad days. I left the same for my children. Maybe the poem is true. New generation need to stand on new and better goals. I liked the thoughts and the ending. Thank you Jon for sharing the excellent poetry.
