Constant change

Constant change

A Poem by Jon Roggie

It only hurts if you pay attention.
  Well,
I might be using a hint of deception.

With growth there is always a touch of decay.

Part of us is always going to die.

Nothing to be done about it.

Scars are left,
giving a glimpse of the past.

Meanwhile,
  we grow.

New branches reaching for the sky.
  Sprouting from an older soul.

Hopefully,
one whose roots are not starting to rot.

I can relate. Great way of looking at silver linings and universal truth.
