Your creations become yourself

Your creations become yourself

A Poem by Jon Roggie

This probably should fall into some other genre,
 designation.
Anything most would call it.

It still falls into talking,
so spoken word drew the short straw.

How do you write a story about a story?

The main character is the essence of story.

First,
I am starting to wonder if I am ripping off Gaiman.
He already did this with Dream.
If so,
  please Neil!
   Don't sue me!

Legal matters beside,
it goes back to a story.

It all started with a few revised tellings
  going back to Aesop,
and I am pretty sure the copyrights have expired on those.

Then,
  a character showed up.

It just seemed natural.
  Telling stories by the  fire.

Now,
I have started to give them names.
Personalities are emerging.

Too be honest,
it is fun to let each run.

Still,
I realize at least a touch of each is me.

As God gave life and is a part of us so too is each write a part of you. Once again, I love the conversational way that you write. I can well imagine sharing a cup of tea as we prattle on about life.

I tend to fall into writes. Most are a one-sided conversation. Never know. Random cup of tea.
