I will see joy

I will see joy

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I am a duality.
  the optimist pessimist.

I have given up,
 and still feel hope.

While all you are shown are images of despair,
 if you look around,
it is amazing how much beauty is waiting.

Images of joy are used for filler.

If you live them...

I remember my niece,
and she is experiencing her first Christmas.

Now,
 she was born in January,
and by July she was diagnosed with a type of cancer,
one which grew within the spine.

So before she even hit a year,
she had already been going through chemotherapy.

I could understand why this might sound like a sob story,
but she came home a few days before Christmas.

She grabbed the grey teddy bear I gave her,
 and she still has it.

She graduates high school in May.

I need to give her a new bear.

I love this! Front beginning to end, it speaks of reality, promise, and hope. Life is full of miracles.

Indeed. Easier to see them when they happen around you.
yes you certainly do, but it just won't be the same as THAT bear.

I have found one, and it would be fun. It is almost seven feet tall. She still only stands around .. read more
