This is going to take a few adjustments

I would like to start out by making a simple statement.

I have no clue what area my writes belong.

Spoken word works,

 simply because I ramble along.

Anyway,

 I will try to get back to the point.

Niece has started on-line schooling,

 and I realize this has been mentioned before.

I get to be the in-house help person.

Now,

 there are a few issues.

Mom has no clue how this works.

Niece stresses over the simplest things.

I am an introvert.

I already keep my hair cut short.

  Harder to pull out.

So,

 I have a simple plan.

I will take her out to buy some doughnuts.

Explain to her I might randomly become very cold and quiet.

Try to make her realize it is not her.

Maple bar should help with the explanation.

Kids do extremely better with the truth than adults. It'll be fine and you both might be pleasantly surprised. As an adult introvert, the child is less of an "adversary" "opponent" "distraction" than an adult who can demand your attention because they won't get into "trouble" for it. You see what I mean? And yeah, those doughnuts should seal the deal.

Explain "boss" to the baby, using terms like older/higher pay grade or rank, if you will, and it sucks to be her until she's grown! *laughing* These are actually things I told my kid when he turned 11 or 12 - you ain't grown until the law says so, I am the boss of you and get used to a sucky life until then!
