Cascade

Cascade

A Poem by Jon Roggie

The images filter through.
   Each unique,
      and begging for attention.
Knowing they might be forgotten.

Starry-eyed,
 lack of focus,
   forgetting the glimpses.

Overwhelmed by the possibilities,
  so many fade away.

Lost in the constant cascade.

Like a slideshow with the timing set too fast....this is really a wonderful way to describe some memories...and especially what could have been memories.

You can get lost in a world of what might have been. Sometimes you don't want to look away.
This is really deep on many layers, resonates of late. So in reach yet not, tenderly balanced and yet uneven, an apt title for this piece, I felt it :)
