She won't listen

She won't listen

A Poem by Jon Roggie

First,
 I give my apologies.
I am irritated.

I was not supposed to be raising a teenage girl.
  Thank you brother.
    Still dodging the support also?

Yes,
 this won't be pleasant.

Time to vent.

Most parents have time to grow into it.

I was trying to become a hermit.

Another story.

What bothers me,
 is she won't listen,
  or at least to me,
   or my mom.

Remember the brother?
Mom has been raising her since two.
    Court is still looking.

I told you this wouldn't be pleasant.

Realizing how stubborn my family seems to be,
  I should have expected this.

I wish she would listen.

Most likely,
I will walk her down the aisle.

Watch over her.

 but she won't listen

I just want to be a hermit.

lots of things we think we aren't supposed to end up doing...but we learn to do them....
a hermit's life may not have interactions with others...but we can't run away from who we are.

Apparently not.
She might not be listening, but she is HEARING. And one day that hearing will mean something, both the limits and the love.
