The doors open behind me

The doors open behind me

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Life is often seen in a rear-view mirror.
You would think this is because of my choices.
I admit it.
  Maybe a few,
    but growing less.
I also have to be honest.
I did not create the situation,
but I walked in with eyes wide open.
I see what could have been,
but I also see what might be.
Doors keep opening.

Jesus, if that's not the truth, especially when I was younger.

You nailed the concept of the "might-have-beens" seen in the rear view mirror. Well penned, Jon Roggie.

I hope I balanced it with a view towards what might be. We make mistakes, and hopefully learn. Giv.. read more
It is always wise to admit your mistakes. I really liked this poem, the last line says it all.
