Shrugging it off

Shrugging it off

A Poem by Jon Roggie

It wasn't what you said
  wasn't what you did

More the way
  you let it

Didn't change you
  didn't affect you

And you still looked away

Passed along your pain

Giving up a dream
  waiting to be seen

While I don't let much "change" me, I seldom give up a dream - hey, even old broads still have 'em, you know. I liked this description of someone you obviously know. Well done.

Sometimes silence or not being heard the most difficult.

At times. We all live in our own moments.
Few words which say a lot...Beautifully written. I liked it.

Thank you. I was trying to describe how we judge ourselves. Hopefully, the message seeped through.
