One of those days, Part X

One of those days, Part X

A Story by Jon Roggie
"

A friend of mine, Paul Postma, just gave a perfect line. He has no clue of what I have been writing.

"
The silence which follows is one you wonder about.
Manatua has vanished once again.
As usual,
left out of the commentary,
I hear one thing,
"How are we supposed to follow her?"
You get used to it.
Fesili's eyes are glowing.
 Honestly,
I have to talk to her about that.
   Throws people off.
The three mavens descend upon me.
Julian speaks first.
"What was that?"
Anne is next.
"How do you know her?"
Marion,
 wanting to be silent,
  still can't resist.
"Remember the child?"
I have a chance to be smug.
"I was asked for a story,
and this one is only half price."
Looking at me in confusion,
 they notice the silence.
"A good friend of mine once said something.
I think it might have been Paul Postma.
The words I remember are this.
'The price you pay for true knowledge is seldom reckoned in dollars.
It is exacted in devotion.  Be first true to yourself.  Then teach others.'"
Now, to be honest,
I would have loved to have created those words,
   but I didn't.
I give credit.
Now,
I might have to tell another story.

i love the protection nature of Anne, Julian and Marion. A lot of wisdom in Paul's words.
