Push aside the pain

Push aside the pain

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Let us be honest.
 It will always be there,
 waiting.

So,
 we find our ways,
 some healthier than others,
 each a temporary distraction.

Only words some might say,
but they can be turned to dreams,
and during the moments of sleep,
 the unmeasured time is glorious.

With a shift of the coin,
 another illusion added,
 helping for the moment.

All a self serving effort,
for an instant to push it away.

Pain will always be submerged and there...depending on how well we wear the scars there are moments of pause to dream and gain some respite...I guess every battle has its rest...
