Sitting in the cinders

Sitting in the cinders

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I have to admit,
 I am a touch disappointed.

I was supposed to lead you to destruction,
and now I sit on cooling coals.

You just couldn't get along?

Some of you made the attempt to give a bit of hope,
and look where it got you.

Now,
  nothing to do.

I look at the landscape,
and no one mentioning something about freezing over.

Hell froze over did it?

As always clever, as usual insightful. Rarely I suggest you look at your work again. But I think this line trips up the read:
Some of you tried to attempt to give a bit of hope.
