Wait for it

Wait for it

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Take a seat.
Listen to the people shifting around you.

Your presence was not required,
but it might become a highlight.

I'm sorry.

You might have misunderstood.

This is not a simple reading,
and I wouldn't even call it a recitation.

At this point,
 it is only silence.

Now,
 you can change the feeling.

Walk forward.
Share your words.

I understand.
  Feeling a little shaky?

Most people wait.
Expecting someone to share their words.

Some do just that.

Do you wait for it,
or do you share your words?
