Judging the children

You don't know them.
I only see your own insecurities.
Clutching an illusion.
They are growing,
 and you are also supposed to grow.
You expect them to fit a mold.
The fit is growing a touch tight.

Sadly, we do pass more than the good onto our children, who absorb everything around them. The stresses, anger and frustrations we think we hide so cleverly. As a kid, I respected those who listened to us and treated us like equals, some fail to see kids as real people with real minds and opinions. We have over-filled them with all our junk.

The best we can do is show them our true self, and encourage them to ask questions. We have the bur.. read more
kids will grow up to be themselves, no matter how much we try to steer them in a certain direction...we can give them good counsel...but need to let them grow up to be what they will.

Smothering... There must be space enough for them to spread their wings but boundaries enough for them to not fly too far too swiftly.
