Let me see

Let me see

A Poem by Jon Roggie

It hasn't been so long,
but still I feel a touch of hesitation.

Your voice starts to shrivel.
Easier to stay quiet.
Watch the world go by,
living in your zone of silence.

Conversations directed to the trivial,
and please don't disturb the sensitive.
Distract yourself with the pretty pictures.

If you pay attention,
this is only a beginning.

I try to find the voice.
One which still shares a message.

Sadly, I see this continuing.
It is all too easy to fall into the trap of distraction, while the monster in the room is prominent to all, yet ignored. We can only hope one day to find that voice that echoes our own. Wonderful words here Jon.

Thank you. Nothing changes when we stay silent.
So easy to fall into complacency or not speak the uncomfortable truths. Finding one's voice.

Too many are silent. Thank you, my friend.
