Because I am tired

Because I am tired

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Lets be a little free.
I can blame the little slips.

Lack of sleep.

Words wander,
and I can no longer keep track.

I stayed awake.

If only to say goodbye.

Sometimes even lack of sleep can't stop the brain from overloading in thought, until it has thought or said what needs to be said or done, written out or spoken. And even then, our last thought awake will usually follow us into dream. Love the ending of this Jon.

I have tossed, and turned a few nights. A few words help.
and after the goodbye...a very long and deep sleep...hoping to eventually wake up next to another.

Still, I dream, hoping it is a reflection of my waking moment.
Last two lines. Perfect.

I wouldn't go that far, but I do like them!
