All a dream

All a dream

A Poem by Jon Roggie
"

Impromptu collaboration. I was joined by jacob erin-cilberto, KL Goode, Papaya, and Corset. Hopefully this meets their approval.

"
If only for a moment,
I let my soul drift.

Seeing a world so different.

One hiding behind the nightmare...
but that nightmare really gets in the way,
and the better world seems a dream if we can make it there.
Just beyond reach.
Yet reality is a mire, a funeral pyre.
The underneath always makes its way to the surface.
A facade of happiness where horror exists...

Life.
I look at this,
and sadly smile.
So many choose to accept the reality around them.
I look for a way to change the world around me.

Very nice poem, my friend. Your voice in the poem has it's own rhythm to it. It flows so nicely, like the words are just gracefully falling down the page. Thank you for sharing with us.

I give credit to my fellow writers. Simple four line poem turned into this.
The last two lines really bring the meaning home! This poem is touching!

This is an interesting one. Started with four lines, and wound up written by five.
Brilliant! I concur with Nemo. R xo

We can but dream. And you are all right, just because this is the way it is, doesn't mean it is the way it has to be. Think of all the wonder that originated in such dreams. Superb.

I am willing for a major edit on this one. Any objections? Full credit of course.
