Words spoken in silence

Words spoken in silence

A Poem by Jon Roggie

When no one seems to be listening,
why should you try to speak?

Simple.

Was it worth saying?

Is it something you care about?

Do you think it must be said?

Easy choice.

When words are spoken in silence,
someone will notice.

Some will agree,
and others will not.

Still,
the words are heard.

A quiet voice might echo across a room,
if only because of the surprise.

That's very true. The element of surprise is great for getting attention.

Not always pleasant, but I feel we were meant to have a voice.
