Lands laid wasteA Poem by Jon Roggie
I think back to the old commercials.
I guess now they would be public service announcements. Remember the Indian? Yes, I realize. Now, it is Native American. Before I go forward, I must pause. Most of us see the damage being done across the world. Destruction rampant in so many ways. War. Natural disasters. Leaving wreckage. Getting back to the point. The final shot was always showing a tear rolling down his face. I understand it. The destruction left by some having a good time, I can't understand. Why would you go there if it was how you left it? I see what is left behind, and feel the tears rolling down my face.
