Run with it

Run with it

A Poem by Jon Roggie

It doesn't make sense,
and that adds to the fun.
I have had the pleasure of writing with two other poets.
Why doesn't it make sense?
We have never met.
Live in different time zones.
No real clue about the other.
But the words match.
I could see it if we worked at it.
Speaking for myself,
we seem to just carry on the conversation.
Is it groundbreaking?
Doubtful.
Can we do better?
Of course.
If we continue,
there is one thing which matters the most.
It has to sound like one person.
It has to feel like one person.
We can't do that constantly.
You have to play now and then.
Still,
when the chance arises,
you run with it.
Run as far as you can.

Clever tortoise -- and run, we do -- honestly, with you, and Ana, it is effortless ... I have done many collabs, and you two are the only ones whose words just flow with mine without difficulty.

Reminds me of jam sessions. There is an automatic "Wait try this", kind of thing going on.
