Ever chased

Ever chased

A Poem by Jon Roggie

First off,
I did not say ever chaste.

There is a difference.

Time for a bit of morbid sense of humor,
sorry, if it causes a bit of worry.

Not being the keeper of the family tree,
and they are trying to get it right,
there is no way to claim a proper burial rite.

At the last count,
my family is Irish, Scottish, Dutch, whichever form of German it was during those years.
Add in a few Native American tribes, and maybe even the French.

Anyway,
 I see a slim chance.
 I can keep Death busy.

If nothing else,
I can distract her for awhile.

How many times can I get away with saying,
  "Nope, try again."?
