Learning how to talk

Learning how to talk

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I might manage a few extra sentences,
and I realize that might be a surprise.

I try not to drone along.

You have to be natural.

Let yourself show.

This is why I got stuck with playing too many parts.

Brutus almost did me in.

When I was in West Germany,
  it started to sink in.

Yes,
  you can guess the age.

I can fall into accents.

I learn.

They didn't realize I was an American.

I kept learning.

I still do.

Listen for awhile,
  and it falls into place.
