I will try to tell a story

I will try to tell a story

A Poem by Jon Roggie

It all comes to the ending.
Sun rising behind me,
  reflecting across the water.
Tired,
 but smiling.
Last night was graduation,
but I only stopped for a moment.
The obvious play would be to stop.
Just join the party.
This is me.
I have a case of beer on ice,
and I want to be alone.
(I was parked before I opened the first beer.)
The past few years have left a mark.
This is not moaning about the past,
  more a simple reflection.
Remember when I mentioned the ending?
While looking across the water,
I can't help but look back.
I have seen a friend's father die,
  while saving others.
Helped a teacher during her final moments.
  She knew she was going.
  It tore us up.
I can't go on with this.
I want to watch the reflections on the water.

Those quiet moments are good moments of reflection and just the setting sun on the water.
This has a melancholy feel to it. Like a page turned to end a chapter that you're not ready to end.

I like to think all of us have those moments.
