When you just have to write

When you just have to write

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Write one,
  and I can go away.

It nags at you.
Scratching at the back of your mind.
Won't let you go.

Sit down,
 and you can feel it,
   but too tired.

The words are there,
but they are moving too slowly.

Do this long enough,
you should be able to recognize the feeling.

Hopefully,
this will put the beast at bay,
and let my mind wander a different way.

no matter how tired, when the words are coming, they must be written down or poems are lost...

and even the bad ones often end up being salvageable in the morning...as long as we catch the thought on paper...

They are always there, aren't they?

Ah, I do this frequently, and unceremoniously offer it to the electronic trash bin after it is purged. Thanks for that. I am off to bed. I shall catch up with your ever prolific pen later ... xo
