rose petals and orange blossoms

rose petals and orange blossoms

A Poem by Jon Roggie

you ever do some yard work?
looks pretty from a distance,
  but get a little closer.
roses have thorns,
  and the blossoms draw bees.
touch of danger,
  even in a simple garden.
never mind the sweet smell.

I am going to miss it, but I can't help thinking "Every rose has its thorn".
