A Poem by Jon Roggie

The fire is the only source of warmth,
and still you huddle in the shadows.

My sudden appearance was a surprise,
but it should not cause such alarm.

Merely taking a bit of warmth.

Is this the point of worry?

Shrug it off,
  and come closer.

Turn my eyes from black to blue,
and let your moments of joy allow me to tell a story.

for whatever reason I picture the first meeting between man and wolf, both cold and loney for warmth and company hence the origin of man's best friend.
