It always comes back to the story

It always comes back to the story

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Consider the medium.
  You shouldn't be surprised.

What else did they want?

Waiting to hear something new,
  or maybe aged,
    new to their ears.

A story.

This is where it could get mean.

So many stories to be told,
  and many ignored.

Stick with a mix,
   only a glimpse.

Flipping coward.

Which story should I share?

Ah, which parts of ourselves to share and which to hide? From those I love I hide nothing. You take me as I am, with all my warts, or not. From others, society dictates that we tell only part of the story -- for propriety's sake, work's sake, etc. The nature of being human is that we have many layers, but often only reveal that which is acceptable to certain parties. If you have seen the whole of me and don't run in terror, well, you have my love. You made me think on this one -- I am feeling inspired.

She is unleashed. Thank you.
and as the story goes, it grows, and parts are added and parts subtracted, and then...we ask ourselves, what is real in the story and what is made up...or exaggerated...

we glimpse...but do we believe?

The story always changes. It depends on how selective the memory is.
