I can't call him brother

I can't call him brother

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Yes,
he is the son my mother's husband.

Notice how I am bypassing the easier label?

Today was a turning point.
I got to see how much any of this mattered to him.

Moving past all of the setting,
it comes down to one thing.

He was called when we had to take him to the E.R.

He couldn't be bothered.

I was left to pick up his father once again.

I am getting too bitter.

Don't get bitter..just know you are the dependable one, the one, that does the right thing. That is the important thing to remember.
