Auditory Intoxication

Let the sounds take over....
   lead you forward.
     carried away.


Songs are the easy one,
   bringing out the memories,
     all of them easy to touch.

So many other cues,
  each waiting to be heard.


Ever notice those in the background,
   maybe a train rolling by?

I restrain from mentioning so many others,
  because each has their own memory.

I am sure you have your own.

One of the reasons 9/11 is still stuck in my head. I lived by Sky Harbor, and suddenly no planes were flying. The silence was deafening.

is that a statement that oft memories are not pleasant or an apology that memories were not always pleasant? either way, we often hurt the ones we love most , we know we can and they will still be there. no questions asked, it is the way of friends

Bit of both. Memories form the person we are. Those moment form us, hopefully creating something good. Now, those same memories can cause pain, especially for those who hold them dear.

At the moment, I listen to one or more new born redtail hawks. I can hear them, and see the parents, but I am not going to climb the tree to get a closer look!
