Memories from a friend

Memories from a friend

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I admit this is a bit awkward,
but I may as well continue.

Old friend wrote some comments.
  Talking about his childhood,
    especially high school days.

Just his feelings about those times.

Nothing directed at me,
at least I don't think so,
   just memories.

Lot of anger,
   and I can understand.

Constant accusations,
and I admit I didn't notice the withdrawal.

I was going through my own.

Easy to notice thirty years later?

Back to the point.

I understand it.
You needed to get it out of your system
     Let the wounds heal.

Just wonder if it would have been easier.
