Ugly side

Ugly side

A Poem by Jon Roggie

This is the time I try to walk away.

Alone,
  I can control the damage.

Room is dark,
so you don't see the golden eyes,
     surrounded by red.

Hands stilled,
  just for a moment,
    hiding the tremors.

Showing only a smile,
  not the other side.

All I can say is it hurts.

hiding that ugly side, that hurt side, that scarred side...darkness is the best shield.

we get good at hiding those tremors.

i really like this...
