Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Only for a little longer.
   I'm not stupid.

Promises are too often empty,
and I am not so naive.

I know better than that.

So,
   I will wait.
      Just a little longer....

It makes one wonder what you are waiting on, I agree with Renee below. It is not wrong to keep a promise (unless it was a threat.) "Promises are too often empty,
and I am not so naive." (Un?) fortunately, "I am a believer in the makers of promises and of those who keep them."

I admit, this sounds bitter. After so many promises are broken, I do still try to believe maybe not.. read more

same here, so we have something in common.
It is not stupid to wait upon a promise..it means you trust. The fool is the one who breaks the promise..
