Waiting

Only for a little longer.
   I'm not stupid.

Promises are too often empty,
  and I am not so naive.

I know better than that.

So,
   I will wait.
      Just a little longer....

It makes one wonder what you are waiting on, I agree with Renee below. It is not wrong to keep a promise (unless it was a threat.) "Promises are too often empty,

I admit, this sounds bitter. After so many promises are broken, I do still try to believe maybe not this time.
