Time for a music write

I have a preference,
  and it is words should be song.

You can delve into the classics,
  or maybe write some pop,
    I guess I may seem to stick to some classic rock.


Maybe some new wave,
   and I admit I like some punk.

Each of us finds the song.
  The one we want to sing.
