This time of the year?

This time of the year?

A Poem by Jon Roggie

You wake me up?

I am supposed to be sleeping in the leaves.

Flutterby and Pixie are not around,
and a simple tortoise tries to sleep.

Still,
  I will wink,
     and wish a New Year,
while I rest in the Garden.

Then you are left alone to house all those good wishes on your own, somehow I think you'll suffer through it.

Of course.
i think the tortoise also said, "happy new year"--

you rest, and have a good new year, yourself, Jon.

always have enjoyed your poetry...speaking of leaves....you leave much between the lines, which i really like.
