Something to remember,

Saved a life today,
  and I wonder if I just prolonged it.

Doctors and E.M.T,'s do this all the time but sometimes against the persons wish I personally feel life is a race and if you don't finish it you will miss out on your reward for competing.Sometimes memories are good and sometimes bad.I prefer to make them all good cause they could always be worse.This piece inspires me to write about an old cliche nice short and sweet

each moment is one to remember or forget...hopefully the new year will be comprised of many more saveable moments...

wow, back in 1979 someone saved my life with that very maneuver ----
whether or not you feel you just prolonged it, the matter is "you" did save a life...something to be proud of.
Helped dig out a man trapped in a pit at an oil refinery back in the late sixties...you don't think about it, you just react. and like you said...you step back later.
