Change the bindings

A Poem by Jon Roggie

A daily ritual,
  replace the strips of cloth,
   always covering my eyes.

Some would say I am trying to ignore the world,
refusing to see what is around me.

If that is so,
  why do i replace them?

I already know what I will see,
  and my eyes burn.

The bandages are not for my protection...
