She won't call me Uncle Jon

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Some would consider it a touch of disrespect,
  but I am not one of them.

She knows she can ask me questions,
  and receive a truthful answer.

Unless she is being irritating.

Generations are irrelevant,
  when compared to friendship.

So,
  stuck being called Jon.

I actually dislike formalities. I do presentations at my daughters' school and insist everyone call me by first name. The parents tsk tsk their kids when they yell hi to me. Good lord, how do the parents think the kids know my name in the first place?
