Ah I see now. The no show parent. Unfortunately, this is all too often the case. And I know men who have the same problem with the mothers of their children. We seem to pick partners that are not strong enough to maintain the relationship with the kids once the adult relationship is severed.

Well, certainly, in my own family's case, my parents ended up raising my nieces a good portion of their lives. Sometimes neither parent is fit.
