I am a hermit

I should be off in the woods,
  wandering around,
     and feeling what is around me.

Yes,
  I am an introvert,
    though many may doubt.

I struggle to share words,
  and I quickly withdraw.

For awhile,
  I may joke,
     and carry a conversation,
       but it burns me.

Nerves start to fray,
   and my emotions escape control.

I always want to withdraw,
  silence healing,

Wandering in the forest.

i do live in a forest...but am probably more of an extrovert...
you are quite compact with your words...maybe a bit shy, but powerful in meaning---

and i have found, living where i do...getting away from the fray, silence does heal...

A bit ago,
I came across a description of an introvert.
It is not that we don't enjoy being around others, and interacting.
It just drains you. Burning up so much of your energy.

My friends know me for lighting up a room. Starting up conversations with many who would not feel comfortable. They also know, I sometimes need to step away from everyone, just to recharge.
