I am a hermit

I am a hermit

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I should be off in the woods,
  wandering around,
and feeling what is around me.

Yes,
  I am an introvert,
    though many may doubt.

I struggle to share words,
  and I quickly withdraw.

For awhile,
  I may joke,
     and carry a conversation,
       but it burns me.

Nerves start to fray,
   and my emotions escape control.

I always want to withdraw,
  silence healing,

Wandering in the forest.

I think my reply to Jacob gives a bit of insight. It is a catch 22.
i do live in a forest...but am probably more of an extrovert...
you are quite compact with your words...maybe a bit shy, but powerful in meaning---

and i have found, living where i do...getting away from the fray, silence does heal...

i never tire of reading your significant sharing of words, even if brief...
