Dreams only give a hint

While I sleep,
  my dreams remind me.

Lately,
  they have taken a turn,
    one which I understand.

Reflecting a world I am unable to control,
   merely one in which I drift.


I see It,
  but even in my dreams I try.

I try and accept my doubts,
   and move along.

Dreams are a reflection,
  only as dark as you let them,
     and I can only take so much of a hint.

I often stumble over my dreams and try and sort out their meaning(s). I rarely understand them.

I can't control my dreams, but I do seem to realize what is happening. Maybe I wake just enough while they continue. I know. Not how it is supposed to work!

As far as I understand it, that is "lucid" dreaming. I have done that a lot -- not every time, but a good percentage of them.

I also had night terrors and sleepwalking as a kid. Although I rarely sleepwalk or sleeptalk now, I do every once in a while still. Did you/do you?

I do talk in my sleep. Not sure about sleepwalking, but I will find myself turned to the opposite end of the bed by morning. Also, nearly brained myself on a cabinet next to my bed one night. Looked in the mirror, and hair was matted to the side of my head with blood! What a rude awakening!
