Scaring the clowns

Scaring the clowns

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Your act is old,
waiting for another to take your place.

Flaunt your colorful demeanor,
while I smile in the shadows.

You bump into me in passing,
confused by what should be empty.

You often try to hide in the darkness,
   and I grin.

You are trying to hide in me..

"the smile i wear is just a frown turned upside down" (smokey)
but i smile in the shadows, and you wonder why you feel so empty.

i really like this piece...

Nice reference!
Scared a clown on Halloween.
Why should they have all the fun!
