Family

Family

A Poem by Jon Roggie

This is hard to explain.

All of you,
  my fellow writers,
   are becoming my true family.

No,
I am not trying for bonus points.

I am being honest.

I try and speak,
  and once in awhile,
    I manage to connect.

So much better,
and not to take a shot at my blood,
     but I will.

Tired of hearing of being a godsend,
  while you take vacations.

Tired of hearing glad you are there,
when you could manage to stop by.

Tired of hearing everyone,
each taking a shot at another.

Tired of my blood,
  each making excuses.

So,
I turn to my other families,
   those I can talk to.

This makes me feel familial, and familiar as to like a family. The points are okay with me, right now, but not essential, but I like them...I like it. I don't have a favorite line, I like all of it.
