Another costume

Another costume

A Poem by Jon Roggie

All Hallows Eve,
  just another day.

Wear the usual costume,
  one with a smile.

Nothing scary,
  looking pleasant.

Just don't notice my eyes,
  black,
     and bottomless.

Look at the casual grin.

this reminds me of smokey robinson...
"take a good look at my face, you'll see my smile looks out of place, if you look closer it's easy to trace
the tracks of my tears"

it's that closer look into the eyes, that gives us away...even with the grin, there chagrin hidden.
