Only an eight hour drive

Only an eight hour drive

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Sure, I could do it,
  but why?

Two days,
spread out a bit of relaxation.

A time of solitude,
 and one well needed.

A chance to watch the mileposts go by,
and  each mile I feel more disconnected.

Wonder if I am meant to travel.

Yeah… you were meant to travel.. we all were, it is why we have feet ! I like car, better than planes, because it gives me time to breathe and adjust when leaving loved ones. Like a diver coming up from the deep…

as long as I get the my moment of "leave me alone, and I will talk a bit later," !
I love travel so not sure I relate, but I enjoyed the poem anyway :)

Showing a bit of disconnect. I just like spreading out the journey!
